After a 4-1, 3-2 victory over their opponents over the weekend in the National Chess League, it is safe to assume that the defending champions, Kireka Chess Club are back to winning ways.

Kireka turned tables on Mulago Knights and the four-time defending champions Dmark Chess Club in the fifth and sixth rounds of the league to move up the table thanks to FIDE Master (FM) Harold Wanyama, Haruna Nsubuga, Simon Gonza, Woman FIDE Master (WFM) Goretti Angolekin and Edgar Ntende.

They collected six points out of a possible ten in the two rounds.

Wanyama and Gonza collected two points in the day’s campaigns while Ntende made one point. Angolikin and Nsubuga made half a point a piece.
